Videos & Animations with AI: Remotion, SVG, After Effects and Blender

Videos & Animations with AI is an AI animation course about making videos with an AI agent that writes the code, so you stay in control of every frame. In 25 short sections it covers frames and frame rates, video as code with Remotion, SVG pictures an AI can write, After Effects expressions and scripts, 3D scenes in Blender, AI voices, lining up tracks on a timeline, video shapes for each platform, and the rights and consent rules around AI media.

It is not about typing a prompt into a text-to-video generator. It teaches a more controllable way: describe each scene, let an agent write it as code or a script, preview it, and ask for precise fixes.

What the course covers

SectionsTopicWhat you do
1 to 3Frames, keyframes and frames per secondScrub a keyframed timeline, then convert between seconds, frames and fps
4 to 8Video as code with RemotionFill the gaps in interpolate and spring code, then match preview problems to the prompts that fix them
9 to 11SVG: pictures written as textRead an SVG path and pick the drawing it makes
12 to 14After Effects with an agent, and expressionsType the expression for a spin, a wiggle or a fade
15 to 163D scenes with BlenderPut the steps of a Blender turntable job in order
17 to 20AI voices and putting it togetherTime a script, then sync a caption to a spoken line
21 to 22Shapes and sizesSort platforms into 16:9 landscape or 9:16 vertical
23 to 25Rights, consent and labels, and a final projectMake the responsible call on voice cloning, music and labels

Video as code

A video is a stack of still frames played quickly: films use 24 frames per second, and most online video 30 or 60. Remotion lets you write a video as a React component that is drawn once for every frame. Your code turns the frame number into a position, size or opacity, so an agent can write a scene from a plain description and you check it in a preview you can scrub.

const frame = useCurrentFrame();
const opacity = interpolate(frame, [0, 30], [0, 1]);   // fade in over the first second at 30 fps

Pictures and motion graphics

An SVG is an image written as text, so an AI can write one and you can edit it by hand. The course shows how to ask for SVGs that are easy to animate. In After Effects, an expression is one line of code on a property, run every frame, and the whole app can be scripted, which lets an agent do repetitive work.

3D, voices and finishing

Blender, the free 3D app, can be controlled entirely with Python, so an agent can set up a turntable shot. Text-to-speech tools turn a script into a voice-over. An editor then lines up scenes, voice, captions and music on one timeline, rendered in 16:9 for YouTube and TV or 9:16 for phones.

Try a question from the course

Frames and seconds are linked by the frame rate: frames = seconds × fps. An 8 second clip at 30 fps is 8 × 30 = 240 frames. Going the other way, 360 frames at 24 fps lasts 360 ÷ 24 = 15 seconds.

Who this course is for

  • Content creators and marketers who want repeatable, on-brand videos without editing every frame by hand.
  • Developers curious about making video with React and code.
  • Motion designers who want an agent to take on the repetitive parts of After Effects and Blender work.

What you need to know first

No experience with video software is needed. The Remotion sections use React, so a little JavaScript helps; the HTML, CSS & JavaScript and Web Frameworks & Stacks courses cover the basics. The Make Websites with AI course explains how to work with a coding agent.

How long it takes

There are 25 sections and most take a few minutes to read; making the final project takes longer. Learners without a plan can open two sections of a course a day, in order, so the whole course takes 13 days. A plan removes the daily limit and lets you go straight to any part, such as Blender or AI voices.

Common questions

Is this course free?
You can take every section without paying, two sections a day, in order. A plan removes the daily limit and opens any section straight away. The tools you use may have their own costs; Blender is free.
Does this course cover text-to-video generators?
Not as its focus. It teaches making video with code and scripts that an AI agent writes, which gives you exact control over timing, text and branding. The skills sit well alongside generator tools.
What is Remotion?
A tool for making videos with React. You write a component, Remotion draws it once for every frame using the frame number, and renders the result as a video file.
How many frames is a 10 second video?
It depends on the frame rate: 240 frames at 24 fps, 300 at 30 fps, and 600 at 60 fps.
Can I clone someone's voice with AI?
Only with their clear permission. Many voice tools ask you to confirm that consent before they clone. The course's rights section covers this, plus music licences and labelling AI content.
What size should a video be for phones?
9:16, vertical. 16:9 landscape suits YouTube and TVs.
