What is graphics processing?

One triangle is rotated by a matrix, rasterised onto a pixel grid, then shaded by blending its corner colours.

Every image on a screen is a grid of tiny coloured squares called pixels. Graphics processing is the work of choosing the colour of every pixel, many times a second.

Games and 3D apps build their scenes from triangles. A GPU (graphics processing unit) turns those triangles into pixels, just like the one above.

This course follows that journey one step at a time. You will move vertices, fill pixels, then add colour, textures and light.
